Bicycle! Bicycle!

Update, for those of you wondering:

19 days on the weight loss regimen.
224 miles on the bike; average speed 16.5 mph.
3 visits with the personal trainer. Ow.
10 miles hiked. 59 chigger bites. Ow.
8 pounds wandering around looking for a new home.
273 showers taken.
1 funky tan on both legs that begins above the knee.

Really love the bike!

You go! I want a new bike, too! But I just got a new laptop and a floor for the horse trailer. That's as far as that summer check is gonna go. I'll just have to keep using my daughter's (I'm really waiting for her to outgrow it so I can have it).

I took me two months to lose 8 pounds. You're doing really well.

You go girl! :-)

And, with gas prices, you are much better off riding a bike. :-)

Woo Hoo! Gave blood last week and got back my cholesterol results. Ouch! You are my inspiration as always. See you on the road. :)

educat, teacherdee, mm,: thank you, girls!

ls: well, what I did was, I made myself spend so much that I couldn't bear not to ride it every day. That sounds stupid, but it works, thus far.

m-dawg: Except that, with the crazy drivers around here, I've been loading my bike onto my car to take it to a safe place to ride, because there is no way I could maintain that kind of pace on the roads and not have some asswipe try to run me off the road. A man was killed by a text-messaging idiot two years ago a half mile from my house. I have too much to live for.

100farmers: Oh, let's NOT talk about cholesterol-- I am now on a statin, which also helped lead to this big effort. I look forward to seeing you!

Good for you. You are doing it the right way! Those 8 lbs will stay off with exercise. You are an inspiration.

Not the least bit stupid. OK, maybe VERY stupid because I did the same thing. I paid for those WW meetings in advance because I know I'm waaay too cheap to spend the money and not get anything for it.

(But stay away from the chiggers! Last time I ran into those evil nasties I was scratching for months.)

I hope you're losing the weight I need to lose.

Congratulations! I am also quite jealous as I have been on a plan for five weeks and have managed to gain 3 pounds.

What are your plans for keeping it up during the school year?
